Careers update – Autumn term in pictures

Autumn 2012 has been another busy term for Careers.  Have a look at our review of the year in pictures:

More facts and figures:

  • So far 7,400 of you have updated your personal careers account at www.york.ac.uk/careers/myprofile
  • 783 students attended presentations by 22 employers looking to recruit University of York graduates
  • York students in Communities offered 7 team projects for 42 students  in projects which included working with new partners the National Trust and a new enterprise module with Commercial Services
  • They also received over 200 applications for individual volunteering opportunities in York
  • Over 180 students are completing YSIS placements in schools this Autumn term
  • There are 30 YSIS Student Managers working on a variety of roles to support YSIS and gaining invaluable work experience
  • Student Managers piloted a YSIS International Induction in week 5 designed to provide international students with additional information about the UK education system
  • Over 40 students have added their details to the new YSIS Language Support Database to offer support to pupils in York
  • 54 students have registered to help run a stall at the Christmas market
  • 52 students have signed up to take the App Challenge
  • 36 students have engaged with enterprise through the York Enterprise Scheme
  • 25 students have had one-to-one sessions about starting-up a business
  • One student has received proof of concept funding for their business idea
